Hey Guys

Post by ngowan » Thu Apr 23, 2015 10:44 am

Gey guys just thought i would introduce myself, my name is Nathan i am primarily an infrastructure Engineer but trying to make a move career wise into a more CG orientated role. i have been using Maya for some years and ZBrush.

I have also got a query that someone may be able to answer, as i am relatively new to Realflow do you know of a way i can create a realistic looking earthquake effect from within realfow then export that to maya?

Thanks in advance

What ever vessel or container you have the water in, animate it in Maya to shake like an earthquake. A real quake will have side to side motions, mostly on one axis, and some up and down motion on the y axis. Export the animation from Maya into Real Flow as an SD file, then fill the vessel with fluid and simulate.

Should be interesting to see.

Here's some info on the type of wave motions earthquakes have.

Good Luck!
