Problems Filling anything with hybrido

Postby diogomgf » Wed May 23, 2018 10:18 pm

Hello,

I am trying to fill a container with hybrido particles (from zero to full), but no matter what I keep getting some sort of volume loss that makes it impossible to fill.
I have tried all sorts of tricks, like putting more emitters inside the volume (after i get to that point where I can't fill anymore) but with no success...

This is even more noticeable when I turn down the cellsize (more resolution in the fluid).

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi

maybe you have done it already long time ago, but did you check the "conserve volume" checkbox?

First off, thank you Christian for the reply :)

I have cheked that box, and it does help me maintain some volume after the surface stabilizes, but it doesn't do the trick when it comes to fill, lets say, a glass...

I have not used Hybrido for such small containers, Maybe a fish tank was the smallest thing. Hybrido may not be the best option for filling anything small, simply because it lacks the details of the other solvers and does not benefit from GPU acceleration.

Yes, agee with ChristianZ. Without being able to look at your container, I'd suggest that you need to use Dyverso. Hybrido is more for mid to large sized fluid sims (rivers, oceans, streams, waterfalls, etc.) Could be a different opinion if we could see a pic of what you're attempting.

Dyverso feels weird... It creates 2 layers of particles and on collision it feels like the particles just bounce instead of "splashing"... Even when using DySPH.

But the layering is only visible at extreme closeup, no? And does not matter when the particles are skinned/meshed.
For more splashes increase the "DY interaction factor" in the objects parameters.

ChristianZ thanks for the input. I will have a look into it.
How do you go about making the splashes bigger in non-moving objects?

I'll help, too. Have worked a LOT with Dyverso. Could we see a pic, of any kind of what you are attempting?

I can post a snapshot, but all I was trying to achieve was simply filling up a cup from scratch...
