How do I get original materials back into 3DS Max?

Postby IngvarH » Fri Feb 23, 2018 10:08 am

I have a scene with a bridge done in 3DS Max with all materials and mapping done. I demolish it with Rayfire. Then I bring it into Realflow 10, and simulate the bridge fragments falling etc. Works fine.

But when I bring it back into 3DS Max for rendering (with Maxwell) all the fragments have lost their materials. So, how do I keep the materials when they pass through Realflow?

Thanks beforehand for any info on this,

Hi

unfortunately, I don't use Max or the connectivity plugin for Max. If that realflow plugin for Max allows to transfer only keyframes of the objects motion, then it could be a solution. Otherwise, the method of breaking with RealFlow is not the right tool for this project. I think Rayfire could be used with rigid body dynamics right inside Max? RealFlow excels when you have 2-way collisions of rigid bodies and liquids, otherwise there are better tools.
RF10 standard + RFC4D
