Ship simulation didn't work well

Postby jyh126 » Sun Jan 14, 2018 1:48 pm

Hi, everybody :0

I'm in trouble.. Could you help me?

I've try this tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z6OvybHvXQ

I matched all value in the tutorial video, but my ship didn't work well

So, I tested simulation with Cube of basic Geometry, it works very well

When I scale up the ship, it was better than former one.

What's the problem?

help.. thanks!!

Hi, I think it's a problem of centering in your 3D app. You should have the center point in the center of your ship, don't know which soft you are using, but in Modo it's call Center to bounding box.

i think RF can't create a correct volume from you ship geometry.
You can display the volume:
select the ship, go to the ships "Display" settings, unfold "Display Volume" and click on "Isosurface".
How does that look?

Also try the "Slice plane XY" and see if the volume matches your ship...

Maybe you have to decrease the ships "Cell size". It's now on "0.1" which is the standard setting... maybe try "0.05"

I totally agree with Chriff here.

Additionally, I would try the "shell" mode for the object volume for such a complex object. Maybe also increase the "interaction factor" with the grid to see more reaction of the fluid.
