Importing realflow mesh into C4D

Post by clpettinato » Thu May 16, 2019 2:07 pm

I recently bought a realflow mesh from turbosquid and they downloaded as a series of .bin files.

How do I upload those into C4D to edit them? I have C4D R20 and the Realflow plugin. Thanks!

that is interesting that Turbosquid allowed somebody to post .bin files, because they are not really a standard for particle or mesh files. Now it is alembic that is much more an industry standard. And so the RealFlow-plugin version supports alembic, but not bin files for exchange of data.
You cannot load the bin files with the RFC4D plugin, but there are some options:
1) try to get access to the so-called "connectivity plugin" from Nextlimit that is the normal way to load bin files for the standalone RF program. Maybe you have to get the RF standalone trial version from them...
2) load bin-files with a compatible program, that is X-particles, Navie Effex and Krakatoa to my knowledge
3) ask the author of the model purchased at turbosquid to convert the files into another format such as alembic or obj
RF10.5 standard + RFC4D3, Mac&Windows
