Hi everyone, this is my first post
I'm new with RF and my first project is to create high viscous liquid tendrils simulation.
Something like this https://vimeo.com/36172233 ,, is a perfect start point.
I did my research and but couldn't find any of the old tutorials that are mentioned around the web, most of them are down (e.g. http://www.waterline.tv/) ..... Waterblast plugin also is unavailable !
I guess playing with sheeter deamon is the way, but I don't know how to generate the tendril itself
Can anyone point me in the direction of tutorials to achieve the effect ?
Any advice is very welcome ...
thanks

Re: Creating Paint Tendrils
Hey CristianZ, first thank you for your quick answer.
Your suggestion has some part that solve my problem: I can see tendrils like flushes of paint, going down from an object indefinitely.
But also I pretend the same tendril, come back to the emittion place, by a force or the gravity.
So like a drop that goes up until reach certain altitud and then go down by gravity force or similar to the emitter.
In the example you did, the paint drop is only falling down.
I know my English is the worst, but do you understand the idea ??
I been playing with crown daemons, but the generation of drops are always in a circular o elliptical form, by the way, your solution suggested above if looking so much better that my results.
thank you very much again for your time

Re: Creating Paint Tendrils
I got a fair amount of tendril type behavior using the default settings with the Viscosity Texture.

@ChristianZ : could you share the setup for the example you showed ?

Yes, this is the dropbox-link for the R10 standard project https://www.dropbox.com/s/5iskwxlw6b6x1 ... h.zip?dl=0
The motion of the tendril depends on your ideas. You could simply animate gravity and reverse its direction or use a high emitter speed.

Re: Creating Paint Tendrils
@ChritianZ: Great, I checked the scene, work perfect. Thanks !
Is there any way to generate an effect like this, but with tendrils going up (against the gravity), loose speed, stop and then go down ?
I can't figure how to set the emitter to achieve that, any suggestion ?
many thanks ....

Re: Creating Paint Tendrils
I suggest to start animating some of the elements in this project: turn the emitter around and animate its speed over time, and/or animate gravity and reverse it midway in the animation.
