Updating geometry with simulation?

Post by mlager8 » Fri Jan 04, 2013 3:02 pm

Is there a way to update my geometry back in maya with the simulation data from RF instead of importing the .SD with tessellated baked geo?

The geo that comes back triangulated dosent smooth well for rendering, plus I usually reduce the models to essentially proxies so RF simming will go faster.

well you could just point and orient constraint or parent constraint your hires to your lowres. even if your RF sim can be updated and connected to your Maya meshes. you still have to do it. since you said you only import lowres geometry to RF for sim. So even if it updates auto in maya u still have to deal with connecting your highres to your lowres.

on rendering meshes that came from RF try adding a - Normals - Softern Edge.
