I have tried the exact same setup in RF5 and it works as expected, the joints fail to break in 2012

HI Gus, I think it must be a problem with my geometry as it works correctly with a fractured cube.

Strange that it works in RF5, Will send you the scene.

OK I think I have found the reason why, the geometry normals are not correct, a strange thing happens in RF5 though, the joints did break but the normals stay aligned to the worldspace so as each fragment rotates the normal keeps its angle and passes through the face!
