Advanced Cmd Line Launcher

Postby bazuka » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:35 pm

Hi people, i just saw Luke Olson script and i made some modifications (hope he doesnt mind ;) )

Here u can choose if u use win x64 or x86 OS (so u dont have to change the path, but only works if u install rf in default path), numbers of Cpus, mesh build. etc...

http://www.nextlimit.com/nlscript/news_scripts.php?id=135

Cheers

Let me know if u like the script and if u would like me to add more options...

Pretty cool! Seems more limited though since not all of the options for command line are available, like range for example and the useCache option is useful when picking up where a simulation left off (not just meshing). An idea for the operating system selection could be to have it automatically detected so the user doesn't have to reselect it each time.

Code: Select all

import platform
userArch = platform.architecture()[0]

Cool take on the idea though and glad to see sharing of modified scripts for all to benefit. Cheers!

Hi, i'm testing this script, and i'm getting very slow sims for build meshes from cmd. I build from the scene itself and runs "normal", but from this script is terrible slow.

Any idea?

Yes, it test if from cmd with nogui and getting same slow sims :(

Lastest RF build
32 bits
Windows 2000 SP4

Strange is than from gui it runs very fast in w2k, more than xp and win2k3 :S, and from viewport too.
