keyframes and constraints

Postby 3dM@niak » Sun Aug 19, 2007 2:43 pm

Hi, i'm new to Realflow, and i think it's great :D still need it just for quite simple rigid body simulations....
so i have a problem i can't solve, and i cant find answer on the net...
i have few objects forming sort of a chain: boxes connected with hinge constraints. i want to animate the first box with keyframes, so it pulls the chain during the simulation. But when I do this, the chain just falls off that first box, like it makes no reaction on its movement made in keys.
how do i fix this, so that the chain follows keyframed box it is attached to?

keyframes and constraints

Two things you need to make this work:-

1) That the object you're keying has dynamic motion switched to "no" and all others have their dynamic motion switched to yes.

2) Secondly that each of your constraints has a parent and a child.

Really that's all there is to it.

If you're still having trouble I'll put a scene together to show you. Sometimes its just a matter of tweaking the position of the constraints as they are a little fussy :)
