irritated particles

Postby MissMoneypenny » Thu Aug 04, 2011 8:46 am

I got a fluid simulation with 4 linear emitters and they have a speed of 15. The simulation runs and the fluid calms down and then there are a few particles that fly arround.
Any idea where my mistake can be??

Probably insufficient substeps. Try increasing the minimum substep value. If you can share a video of the issue that might help.

I have also noticed this, two lone particles can spin around each other almost continuously, you can reduce this by upping your substeps but that can be quite expensive on larger simulations.

Perhaps passing isolated particles or ones with less neighbours to another emitter with a heavy dragforce might help but its probably not necessary in your case.

Email me the scene if you want and I'll have a gander.

So I tried the thing with increasing the min and max substeps from min: 0 to 150 and the max: 100 to 300
The good thing is that the irritated particles are gone, so thanks for helping out with that!!
BUT now my fluid acts different. The splash is gone and I don't know why, because I just changed the substeps.
Sorry I'm a noob in RF, I just started with it last week...
