real wave surface not smooth enough

i have a real wave surface with a classical statistical spectrum deformer but the surface is never smooth even if i lower the poly length on the surface node, there is always an ugly tesselation pattern, and this shows alot in the maya render, so is there a way to get rid of these patterns or at least have a mesh with quads only?
