Settling Rigid Bodies

Postby deadalvs » Tue May 17, 2011 3:28 pm

Hi !

I am trying to create a setup of a structure which should be absolutely stable (no tiny gaps between the polys) and no jittering for rendering purposes (shattering the structure).

I need the geo to be a rigid body which is animated, so how can I get rid of those tiny movements ?

Is there some script or daemon available which locks the animation down until a force other than gravity disturbs the structure ?

any input appreciated.

Have you tried to use the multijoints yet? This should do it.

Settling Rigid Bodies

hi !

actually I did try them, but then the structure collapsed with interpenetrations.

I have watertight structures perfectly snug to each other with 0 space, but I need that to hide the "pre-cracked" structure.

basically I am starting off with cubic structures which need no settling but still do some "shaking" under gravity, using a multibody[ with imported sd containing the geo].

could you give me some advice on good settings for the MultiJoint ?
