Andres de Mingo have done some stunning demos about character-environment destruction using Pulldownit Pro plugin in Max and Maya,

Making your characters destroy surrounding environment isn't an easy task with default animation tools in 3D packages, however it can be required in many animation projects, because of this at Thinkinetic we have tried to make this effect possible using Pulldownit plugin in a pretty easy way, learn some details about how these shots where done in this case study by the author:

Willing to try this?, great, animated objects collision is included in free version, just check Bvolume->mesh->animated in the Create Pdi objects window and click play, let us know!.

nice demos, Im testing pdi free version in MAC OS, with an animated car model hitting a wall, it is working fine but when I try to shatter the wall, it says "this feature isnt available in free version", so I cannot test it, is there any way to tryt the shatter tool in MAC OS?

The shatter tool is currently a feature of pro version, Thinkinetic can provide an eval version which includes the shatter tool to verified companies, so you can contact thinkinetic and try.

is there any chance of this for Cinema 4D? or is it not considered a popular 3D package (as is so often the case it seems)

Yes Cinema4D is a popular and powerful 3d package, we would like to do a version of pdi for Cinema, but only if we count with the support of MAXXON, as you know cinema counts with its own dynamics tools, it is not worth for us spending time in a plugin for cinema if Maxxon is not going to support us or even traying to get us out of the road for not competing with its own developments.

So this depends more in Maxxon policy than in ours.
