Sweet! I think I'll actually try this out when the demo comes along. Is the app worth the price though?

I am sure it is a good product (which I will never use because it is 3dsmax). Seems to be more or less the same thing as Maya fluids with some additional rendering options ?

It seems to have better looking simulations than maya fluids. But who knows...

WHERE DID YOU GET IT? HOW? is a demo version available? can you give us a link? where can i learn about FUME FX? sounds crazy... but tempting! simulations are smokingly faster than realflow? has its own rendering engine? can the data be transfered to maya like 'bin' files?

i got it via work, if you ask nicely i bet they might give you a demo of it.. i dont see why not..


i still havent had time to play with it much.. but here are 3 test things i did.. nothing fancy.

it does render quite quickly and sims fast. it's pretty cool for just having in 3dsmax. It's hard to get billowing smoke out of it. all these tests render about 9 sec per frame
