I have a container of a fluid. I want a sphere or some other object to rise through the liquid, and as it emerges, it sheds the water. I can't find any tutorials that get close to this, so I'd sure appreciate some help. Related to this would be any object rising from the fluid and the fluid morphs to its shape as it emerges.

Assuming the fluid is particles (and not a Realwave) you could have the sticky value of the object very high, then key it lower as you want the fluid to leave the object. There are a bunch of other methods (scripting and not) that could achieve the effect with a Realwave or a grid based fluid.
