emit particle from particle

Postby bluehonda » Wed Oct 27, 2010 4:51 am

Hi! everyone.

I need to emit particles from another particle. to create a particle trail of some sort.
does anyone know of a script that can do this??? i need to make water droplets dripping from a cold drink.

if you have ideas. don't hesitate to let me know.

thanks!

why just don't use your regular particle system in your main 3d apps?
cheers

You can create particle trail with this script.

Code: Select all

def onSimulationFrame():

   particles = Circle01.getParticles()
   emitter = scene.getEmitter("trail")

   for particle in particles:
      ppos = particle.getPosition()
      emitter.addParticle(ppos, Vector.new(0,0,0))

@Thoth - Hi! thanks for the script. works well. thou is there a way to add a multiplier somewhere? cause right now it adds one particle per frame. and thinking of adding lots particles as trails.

@bubs - i wanna use RF because it makes better mesh. And better Liquid sims.

Code: Select all

def onSimulationFrame():

   numberOfParticles = 2

   particles = Circle01.getParticles()
   emitter = scene.getEmitter("trail")
   for particle in particles:
      ppos = particle.getPosition()
      for k in range (0, numberOfParticles):
         emitter.addParticle(ppos, Vector.new(0,0,0))
