Meshing Dyverso Particles in Max 2016 with RFRK 2015

Postby madmax1234 » Tue Nov 17, 2015 12:36 pm

Hello,

i have an issue with Realflow 2015 und the new Dyverso Solver.

I made a little test sim and want to mesh it in MAX 2016.

I import the particles with the so calles Max Mesher.

So far so good. The particles are properly previewed in the viewport.

But when it now comes to rendering, then it's strange.

The standard scanline renderer is giving me what you can see in pic 1,
and when i change to the mental ray renderer i get what you can see
in pic 2.

I tried many settings and scales, but without success.

I hope some of you guys have an idea.

Max.

Hi
I don't use 3Dsmax, just wanted to mention that such cutting can happen with some settings of "clipping" or camera clipping of some sort (maybe test with different views/cameras).

That was also one of my first thoughts, but changing camera und cliping stuff didn't so the job.

But i will give it another try, maybe the scale itself was a problem.

It's only weird that mental ray is giving the right result and the scanline renderer and vray don't.

Best regards,

Max.

Well, well.

So i now tried it all out.

I scaled the scene 10x even 100x bigger, but it didn't made a change.

Weird thing is, sometimes it renders the mesh correct but after rendering
the same frame again for 2 or 3 times then suddenly the mesh disappears.

I also did a test converting the rpc sequence into a bin sequence, but without luck.

Another strange thing that after same time an error message comes up, without doing
anything.

Maybe someone here has new ideas?

I am going to reinstall the complete maschine to make sure that there's now software issue.

Best regards,

Max.

So, at the end, after a long long testing day.

It realy seams that the Max Mesher inside of the Realflow Renderkit
has some major issues.

At first the meshing process is heavily unpredictable and isn't usable at all.
Only with mental ray set as a renderer the meshing itself works.

Further more all the options in the Max Mesher doesn't work.

For example the filter option or the smooth value, both of them haven't any effect.

So i can say the Max Mesher is not usable.

The only way is to use mental ray, every thing is working fine.

But then you are stuck to mental ray and can't use any other renderer like Vray.

Best regards,

Max.
