Hi
Im trying to learn Realflow and I have stuck with one of the tutorials from digital-tutors. I can't get the same result like in the tutorial. Then I Open the scene from project files, again the simulation look very different. I am with RF2014 in the tutorial is 2013 - is that the problem?

Re: Viscous liquid RF 2014
Hi,
Yes, that could be the problem. I have many projects where I use viscous fluids, around 200 viscosity, and notice a difference between 2013 & 2014. The difference I've found is not so much in the viscosity, but in the Particle Fluid Interactions. The three parameters that I use the most to get viscous sticky fluids are Sticky, Particle Friction, and Roughness.
In 2014, those parameters have very different effects (much less so I've noticed) than the same scene file in 2013 with the same values.
Not sure why, so when I need viscous and sticky, I use 2013.
Good Luck,

Re: Viscous liquid RF 2014
I noticed that the problem maybe is the meshing. When I'm using particle mesh legacy The result is much closer to what I want. But in the legacy version the mesh flickers just a bit. Now im trying with resulution of the particles -100. Hope that will fix the problem.
Re: Viscous liquid RF 2014
That's certainly possible, but I noticed my problem before I even got the meshing phase. What I was trying to do is make the fluid very sticky, so it sticks to the object and does not come off (easily) when the object come out of the liquid. Sticking like mud or paint. But with the exact same scene, same geometry, same settings, the fluid would very quickly fall off the object in 2014 but stick in 2013.
The reason why I bring this up is the tutorial you're doing I've done myself. The floor object has to have high levels of particle friction and roughness to make the fluid stick to it and give it a higher looking viscosity.
Good Luck,

I made a few changes after your comment - the result is what I wanted.

Any idea how to smooth this areas? (I have used the particle mesh legacy)

Re: Viscous liquid RF 2014
Decrease the polygon size in the Mesh Parameters. That will make the mesh look smoother and with higher detail.
Good Luck,
