2 RFRK texture magnitude Shaders in Maya...

Postby elvislives » Fri Aug 14, 2009 3:30 pm

I have just made 2 rfrk_texture_magnitude shader trees if anybody want these, save ya making them, done Age and Velocity which will work for most of the other Magnitudes. :)

They are here -

VELOCITY

2 RFRK texture magnitude Shaders in Maya...

Very cool. We just got our copy of RFRK two days ago as well, and now I'm pullng my hair out trying to render 1.8 millions particles sim. Now I'm rendering with mia_x shader, and it takes around 40 minutes per frame for 960 by 540 resolution. Do you have any tricks for RFRK that would help optimize a render time?

Hi,

We have not been using it for very long, but keeping the smoothing down below 0.5 helps.

We test the shader with smoothing set at 0.0, then crank it up for final render.

Also turning off Motion Blur (do it in post with Real smart MB)

Will keep updating as we fine best way to use RFRK.
