I've successfully tiled a hybrido displacement map in Maya. However, the renders appear faceted because the underlying geo in Maya is too low resolution. To solve this I tried increasing the number of faces on the geo in Maya, but the geo has to be very high resolution to eliminate all the faceting from the render. I also tried adding a Mental Subdivision Apporoximation node to my geo, which does eliminate the faceting from the renders, but also results in the displacement maps not tiling correctly. I'm creating a very large ocean, so using high res geo is not really an option. Does anyone know if there's a way to make the Mental Ray Subdivision Approximation Node work with tiled displacment maps from Hybrido?
