Vertex ID problem

Hello all - im using realflow into the XSI ice tree quite happily but i'm having problems with vertx id's.

The imported point seem to have funky ID numbers, ie if i tag a single point in an imported cloud in ICE then the tag does not follow the flow of the point, it stays roughly in the same place which would suggest that the vertex id's are not being numbered correctly.

Im using Reallflow V4.3.8.0124, XSI 2011 and the latest importer addon.

Anybody know it this is a known issue? - Got round it at all?

Hi,
that sounds correct. The point indices of the mesh are updating every frame as new points are added or deleted and the mesh is rebuilt. The index of any point of such a mesh is dynamic and not unique. So, don't think of them as ID's...

That makes it impossible to track velocity properly though - so no motion blur? I must be approaching it from the wrong way....

YES, i've never seen a 3d package which can output a velocity pass from a mesh with a dynamic number of vertices and dynamic ID's. So the only way to motion blur the mesh is to use the renderer built-in motion blur.
