No real joy here Jim. I ran your sim again in RF, converting the sd to curves firstly, and the keyframes its showing me in RF (ie floating bricks etc) seem to be replicated in LW, but only when converting to keyframes inside LW.

Thanks for the imput. I will try motion baker, for some reason I assumed baking the frams natively wouldnt work either,... lets see.

[EDIT]

Thats a negative. There is no motion, only deformation. So NL plug has to bake the 'transformations'. Damn it.

If the LW plugin developer sees this it would be a handy thing to fix, or comment on.
I will post a report to NL too.

If this is indeed a workable solution, I'll talk to Peter and see if he can incorporate a link between Lightwave's native Motion Baker plugins (either of the two) and the RF plugin so that motion keys can be added to multiple objects at once and baked from within either the master plugin or the deformation plugin for individual objects. It seems like a belt and braces approach when this lscript can do what we're after, but as it's not a native LW script, the RF plugin can't rely on it being present.

We'll see what happens. It may well be that the easiest solution is just to point people to the lscript when they want to bake the motion, but it would be nice to have it all within one plugin.

Well, it doesnt bake anything because there is only deformation. I cant quite see a way round this. Maybe theres an mdd route.

OK, interesting. Having spent a little longer looking at the graph editor, the keyframes don't appear to be correct at all. Doesn't look like this works either.

Yes - indeed, only deformation. Perhaps mdd.

OK I have a workable solution (a bit tedious if you have lots of objects to do).

Add SoftFX
Turn off any operators
Calculate
Save motion

Add particle FX.

Now Particle FX can see the surface in world space.

+ Object tracking can be done with DPonts nodes... if you got them before he shut up shop.
