Export Mograph-Animation scene with Rigid Body to Realflow

Postby Hanabi » Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:38 pm

Hi everyone,

I've been playing around with Realflow lately and trying to do the classic animation scene "The bullet hits wine glass" everything will be smashed by a bullet and then fall to the ground like this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciqHd8LXnMU

or this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0N1c-DWkDo&feature=related

The Problem is that it didn't work or do anything in Realflow when I exported the animation from C4D to ( *.sd )

Here is my Process

1. The animation part (bullet hits the glass) I've done it with Thrausi plugin to break the glass and using Mograph with rigigd body. Everything work fine.

2. Then I export everything ( every object are already in triangle ) in to *.sd file like normal.

3. Import to Realflow, every objects was imported but it didn't do anything like in C4D when I hit play. There's no animation.

I guess I really missed something here. Could anyone tell me, How it does work? or give me some links to tutorials for something like this.

Thank you for your time!

1. bake geometry in PLA for all animated.
2. sd option for animated object as vertex mode -> http://yfrog.com/msc4d1j

in rf camera will be animated(if it was rigged in c4d) and your pieces of glass -> http://yfrog.com/ndrfffj

preview(low) from rf -> http://www.box.net/shared/k254rpjucj

sample project from c4d + rf project -> http://www.box.net/shared/d2yqph28mj

wow...ilayshp! Thank you very much for your effort!

I need to ask you one thing, It's very embarrassing here :P
but How can I bake the whole animation like you did on step 1?

I've heard that it could be done with CAPPUCINO but I don't know how.

Thank you again!

Yes you can use MOCCA add-in, but i use Aixponza BaketoPLA.
1. animate all, cashe all by MoCashe(i used MoFracture for cube)
2. add to scene - Connect Object(turn off Weld, you can explode to pieces if need) and link to MoFracture.
3. Select Connect obj. and BaketoPLA

Export Mograph-Animation scene with Rigid Body to Realflow

Postby Hanabi » Mon Aug 23, 2010 5:25 pm

Hi ilayshp,

Thank you for your help! I've tried it (BakeToPla plug-in) and it worked very well but only for something simply not too much polygon and uncomplicated animation like ball hits the box.

but my scene might be too complicated and much much more poly, which I couldn't change it. The Mograph Clone with Rigid body would be also used in scene too. It has been baking for almost 2 days now and hasn't finish yet, something must be wrong.:(

So is there another way to bake mographcache clone or what ever to PLA and export to Realflow? I've been looking for it in google but could only find something like Baking Cloth with Cappucino or Bake an object funktion in Timeline but it didn't work with my situation.

I need your help again. Sorry I know this isn't the Forum for C4D but at least for learning. :)

Thank you very much!

Hello killernatch
Honestly, your scene is difficult for computation in memory.

example http://yfrog.com/n7bltrf14jx
i prepared all, but stack with export(weak machine at home...more 18000 points, several crashes of c4d) :)

For example, i used several moFracture obj. for more 540 obj. i simply put 100 pieces per moFractures...

(p.s. sorry for my English)

p.s.-2 ... don't forget to save inner(closed) surf.mesh of glass for filled emitter or grid-emitter

upd.
I got 4 sd from c4d, but need to be 1 sd per rf-project - http://www.realflowforum.com/view_topic.php?pid=36141#p36141

Hi ilayshp,

Thank you for your effort. :)
I think you're right. I wanted to do something big and might expected too much from my low budget PC. If I have more RAM ( now is 8 GB ) the Plug-in would defnitely work.
So now I tried to reduce Polygon also cut something out and the PLA worked! now it simulating in realflow. It takes very long but should be finished tomorrow, I guess.

Here is my setting. What do you think? ;)

Scene Scale : 0.01 ( I've heard that this scale is good for C4D. Am I right? )

Resolution : 100
Density : 1000
Viscosity : 12-15
Max particle : 500,000
other things I left it as result setting.

for building mesh I'll use

Polygon size : 0.006
Relaxation : 0.15
