New thread about SHADING LIQUID

Postby bubs » Fri Sep 28, 2007 9:13 pm

Hi
I was thinking about a new thread concerning SHADING LIQUID,there are many ways to sculpt the liquid in many different package but i think many want to have starting point on how to achieve such different liquid look and of course there are always tips and tricks to do so,one of the biggest issue i encounter personly is shading Foam for exemple! Maybe the idea to get a place in the forum where we discuss such things and also where we can post some shader or better some realworld examples!

Just an idea!
Cheers Bubs

New thread about SHADING LIQUID

Hi

what is already present in the forum are the several sub-sections for rendering with different 3D-packages. Are you suggesting to merge those again into a general rendering/shading area ?
Or is it more that you would like to see a certain problem put in the center (foam, waves, translucent materials etc) instead ? Personally I agree with it, however I think that the differences between programs are sometimes dramatic and this makes such a general discussion difficult.

Hi

Yes you're right by saying that the difficulty reside in the various 3d package but i think the concept are the same in many cases, maybe not about the total procedure but just to mention the workflow behind each shading issue, the idea to post some shader for Maya or C4D or even Max will be apreciated by many user! A thread where we discuss a different aspect of shading and rendering that's what i thinking about! Maybe as you said merge all those sub-section into one categorie for ease find!

Thanks and cheers Bubs

Yep, that would be great, I have some tips & materials to share about that for Max and VRay users.

I think you could make a big thread acting like a centralization for shaders posted on the forum. Or maybe a whole section with one post for each 3D package...

Hi Tom,

Well, while this is considered, don't let us stop you sharing your knowledge. There is a Max lightling/Shading section already, and all posts can be moved at a later date should they need to be.

Share away... :)

maybe we could have a shading bla area in regards to vray ... cause it's a widespread renderengine, available for amny packeges and good for animated scenes.
