Vimeo Quality

Postby Otuama » Sat Apr 21, 2012 6:51 am

Hi all.

I uploaded a video yesterday and it looks really bad quality on vimeo. I just uploaded the uncompressed version and it looks the same. Any ideas why? Is it a contrast/particle speed issue?

Hi !

I think the problem is the scaling/shrinking of the images. Because of its hard contrasts all scaling becomes very apparent. Maybe you have to produce the screenshot and upload it in HD format, exactly 1280x720, pixel aspect ratio 1:1, for best quality.

as far as i'm aware vimeo converts your videos by default.
Although you always can like to your original uploaded video

Hi

I thought I didn't understand the replies earlier because I was tired. But I still don't.

Sorry.... and thanks.

Compare the time code quality at the bottom right of video in full screen.

I'm using the exact same export settings

EDIT: I just must be the fast movement contrasts. I tried putting a keyframe on each frame but that didn't work

I meant, not to scale the images in any way, but that is not the issue here, sorry.

There is always quality loss, but how to improve ?
Recently I tried uploading a an uncompressed movie (200 Mb) to vimeo and it kind of worked... but I could not watch it anymore without stutter, so it was worthless and I went back to the old method of compressing (H.264) before upload.
