RF_magazine Issue 02_2007

Postby tsn » Mon Nov 05, 2007 8:11 am

The next edition of RF_magazine will be out on 12th November 2007. The topic with this number will be "Scripting with RealFlow - Introduction". It´s a beginner´s guide for all RF users with step-by-step explanations, lots of example scripts and a complete project.

From the content:
First steps in Python, scripting windows (batch, event and custom), variables, data types, building vectors, getting and setting attributes, creating foam, image based emitter speed, exporting RealFlow data to AfterEffects, bounded daemons and many more. Of course, all Python scripts and scene files are included.

Next Limit has already certified the new issue and gives a summary on the RealFlow website: http://www.nextlimit.com/realflow/te_commercial.htm
The "certified by Next Limit" logo means that our technical training team has reviewed the contents and evaluated the course, ensuring the contents are technically correct and the course makes sense and has been well-organized and planned.

Looks like a hoot! I've been getting into some scripting lately, and found that there are not enough resources for RealFlow specific scripting. Plenty on Python for web servers and other fields though.

Does this come in a print form being a magazine, or just electronic? Thanks for sharing the info!

Unfortunately, there´s no printed version. The RF community is simpley too small to print a magzine and send it to any place worldwide. Nobody would pay for this, I suppose. So, it´s a downloadable PDF including all scene files and scripts.

It´s not a traditional magazine, where sb.´s talking diffusely about VFX and the nice things he (or she...) has made. It´s a collection of tutorials, examples, tips, step-by-step guides, and projects for your daily work.
