Scripting with RealFlow - What would like to see?

Postby tsn » Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:43 am

The next issue of RF_magazine (scheduled for Nov. 2007) will cover Python scripting. It´s very important to me, to find projects and subjects, the users want to read. For this reason, I´d like to ask the following:

What do you want to know about scripting?
Are there any topics that should be covered?

I´m open to all of your suggestions and ideas. Just write, what comes into your mind.

Thanks,
tsn

Scripting with RealFlow - What would like to see?

Postby bubs » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:18 am

hi

Thanks you for the good idea and for your effort to try to help! I think one of the common question the realflow user (beginner) asks the first time he hear about scripting in Realflow is why do we need scripting?where i have to use codes? And how to approach any problem with script! The difference between deamons script and liquid script! I asked mayself the first time i use Mel script in Maya and i think it's the same concept in any other language!
Many thanks again and hope to celebrate the 100 issue soon!

Cheers Bubs

Bubs is right. This could be very interesting and useful.

Another idea : I think there should be some kind of step-by-step project. Something like a foam generator. It could be a nice way to introduce lots of RF scripting principles (how to analyze particles behavior, how to create particles, etc) and would make a nice introduction to python for absolute beginner.
