Newbie with questions

Postby RichardJ » Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:07 pm

Hi all

I'm a newbie to Realflow just playing with the demo, to see If it's where I want to go, I'm a Cinema 4D user mainly

I have paid for digital tutors and I am doing some tutorials in caramel etc. but the problem I have is the mesh is flickering especially at the bottom (see image), so although it looks good, the particles are clearly still moving

Anyone know why particles flicker? and I have really up the sub steps like tutorial suggests

Any help appreciated

Meshes from high Viscosity sims tend to be flickering. How did you create the mesh?

Hi

Just the standard meshing tool, a little bit of filter to smooth it a bit, is there a better way?

Don't use the standard mesher if you can avoid it, always try using RFRK_Mesher (you don't need RFRK for rendering). Standard mesher should have been called Legacy mesher, because it is the only mesher inside RF until there was the new RFRK mesher introduced in RF5. RFRK mesher is multithreaded and has more advanced algorithms.

Great I'll try that

Does that go for all meshing?

Thanks
