Did you test videos in Flash-format already ?

This was the format that was possible to embed as a link previously.

well i didn't do anything at all.

Just use this code in your post

Code: Select all

And you can display - flash files.

Displaying Quicktime-Files, find a way to upload the files,... is the real challenge. THINK THINK THINK

Sorry, if there was some confusion. I wrote 'linked file' to indicate, that it is not an attachement on Herberts server. At least, this test showed, that you can convert a movie into flash format and save considerable space. This example was only 450kbytes and is therefore loading very fast.

Something else: I noticed, that the so called "Xenno Group" is not reachable anymore, because of some sort of legal issues. :glare:

The problem with xennobb is that a developer used code from other forums,...
When this came out the other developers decided that the stop the development of xennobb and start a new development.
So its really hard to find any support for our forum-software.

I already was thinking about to change the forum software. I will do some research about this. If so, then it would be to vBulletin. I think thats the one of the only forum software were we can be sure that something like this won't happen.

Its a great pity.

I have have to say, that we never expected that the forum would get that big like it is now.

Yes, it is a pity that this source of free software was not as reliable as we have hoped. However, the forum is running well at the moment and we can live with it, unless there is a complete breakdown after the x-thousand entry or a hacking attack.
So I would propose, that we discuss the possibilities for a more stable solution, but don't rush to switch. Maybe there will even be a similar software around, which would allow the import of discussions from this board.
