Hi Oldcode
do you own now the standard RF10 version? Did you do the jump to the full version?

Hey Christian,
No, I wish I did, but I can't afford to spend over 1000 on getting the full version. I asked (begged really) NL on their forum before it went down to please come out with a Learning Edition again, for 10 has some new features that I really want to use in my projects, but they said that you can just keep renewing the 30 day demo over and over. I've already renewed it once and it will expire again in about 3 days, so we'll see. I'm not actually using Real Flow at the moment for I'm at a stage in my current project that does not need it, but I'm really looking forward to that high level viscosity material they talked about.
Thanks,

Sorry to hear that…Yeah, the prices in the higher-end segment of computer graphics are rather prohibitive unless you earn money with it.
Some people have switched to Blender, but for fluid simulation it is still lacking.
Or Houdini apprentice version, but its procedural approach is not attractive for everyone (like me, for example)

The good news is a guy named Dark Chief just released his homemade Fluid Dynamics plugin for Ligthwave.

It won't do everything Real Flow can do, but it can do the basics for small and medium sized simulations.
For me, as long as the demo keeps working, I'll stick with that. Plus, I still have the other LEs that I bought. I'd rather pay them a fair price for 10, but if they don't want to offer and the demo keeps working, as long as I don't try to make any money off of it, I'm all set. I'm just a hobbyist and won't be doing anything that professionals would be interested in.
