RF Particles and Motion blur... the maya edition

Postby Kastef » Mon Nov 20, 2006 8:23 pm

Hello

I'm trying to figure out how to motion blur these Realflow **Particles** after importing them to Maya. I'm using Renderman as the renderer. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any velocity info on the particles because even a streak or multi streak will not display.

Any tips!

Thanks

K

RF Particles and Motion blur... the maya edition

After further investigation I think I've found the issue. Realflow writes out an attribute called rfVelocity the problem is that within Maya I can't find out a way to replace velocity with rfVelocity. If I create a runtime expression that reads like this:

particle1.velocity = particle1.rfVelocity

no particles are emitted. Ultimately I would like to just out put the rfVelocity as actualy velocity.

Any ideas?

thanks

K
