Mesh on close up

You probably need a higher mesh resolution, maybe plus a higher particle resolution so the mesher has sufficient information to create a smoothe mesh.

Ok, don't use Stabdard Mesh, it is just a legacy implementation and meshing is bound to one single thread. A Smooth values of 100 are way too high and it's likely your mesh doesn't work out as expected because of this. Relax is the opposite of tension, so there is virtually no use in setting up both...

Question about Gnomon's Realflow DVD

The fxphd tutorials are taught every other term, you need to enroll for a full term in order to access the tutorials. After doing so, you can discuss with the tutor via the forums, which can be rather helpful.

Difficult to tell without knowing your settings, so here's some guessing:

- Try Auto Polygon Size > on and off
- Did you set any Splash/ Core Thresholds?
- Increase Radius iteratively in small steps.

Question about Gnomon's Realflow DVD

The Gnomon DVD gives you a good insight on certain techniques that might work in the scenarios described there. To me it was more some source of inspiration on how to address specific problems. I think the best tutorial/ course for "advanced beginners" is the Realflow course at fxphd by Mark Stasiuk.

Grid fluid GAP against SD geo ...

Hi Mike, in the picture I can see the grid's Cell value is a at ~0,3, this means 30 centimeter (~11.81 inches) is the lowest distance possible your grid can take into account. Look at the small boxes in the grid's top corners as their edge length exactly represents the distance represented by your C...

Fill object emitter crash

Could it be it crashes due to the geometry you are using? Have you already tried filling up some RF standard geometry objects in order to get a proof of concept for that crashing behaviour?

You could also add some collider geometry to control the tendril formation. Also consider using filter and maybe Sheeter on filtered particles.
