gravity and air friction??

If you're asking whether RealFlow accounts for drag from the atmosphere, the answer is no. So a feather and a hammer will hit the ground at the same time like the video on the moon just posted (because there's no atmosphere). Though this is not what would happen here because the terminal velocity of...

Max Particle Replenishment

You have a threshold of how many particles you want. If the count is less than that threshold then turn the emitter on (in other words set the speed to greater than zero). If there are more particles than the threshold then turn off the emitter (set speed to zero). Just be sure the maximum particle ...

RealFlow File size

As far as I know RealFlow will save whatever is on that frame. So if you save on a frame with nothing the file will be smaller and if you save on a file with lots of stuff it'll be larger (about the size of the BIN files plus the scene file).

Max Particle Replenishment

You could do this with Python as the simulation runs. Though the built in max particles parameter refers to how many have been emitted, not how many currently exist.

Multiple Gravity by z density and distance from Column

In other words you want a "real" melt and not a "fake" melt. So the entire object reacts in world space as if it were melting instead of just particles from the edges shedding off. The HotnCold plugin can accomplish this. http://resources.realflow.com/news_scripts.php?t=2#page=1&mode=0&id=145 Though...

quick question: higher fps, less substeps = same simulation time?

Yes, the simulation time will be about the same. Maybe a little longer since it has to write out more information to the disk. More frames equals more data to write out even though the processing is about the same. If you're having issues because of insufficient substeps then reducing the substeps a...

Adding colon to time

Depending on your operating system and file system a colon might not be a valid character. Can you make a folder with the title you want manually?
