Re: Octane render error of VDB mesh sequence

Hi I don't have Octane Studio so I cannot comment on that, but otherwise the abc-sequence seems to be ok. I was able to load it into Cinema4D and all the 300 frames were imported and can be played in the timeline. Maybe you could try to first load and then re-export the alembic sequence from another...

Re: Countdown

In principle you can create a text spline for the number 1,2,3, etc. but I don't know how to use them for filling a solid object inside RF standalone. I would go a more simple way by creating all the numbers as solid 3D objects in a graphics program, then import them at once into the same scene and ...

Re: Countdown

Hi

actually, I think the easiest way would be to make a complete simulation with each number and then to edit these video sequences together after rendering. Or do you think about morphing the fluid from one number to the next?

Re: Moving scene disconnects objects

You cannot move the RF scene in C4D after it was created without seeing such effects.

However, the good news is, that you don't have to move it. Colllider objects can be outside of the RF-Scene tree and you don't have to stay inside a certain domain.... so no reason, right?

Re: Sandman

I think Oldcode has more experience with such scenarios. The only similar thing I did was using a puppet filled with water and in that case the water needed to move around.

Re: Sandman

This example in the youtube movie looks almost like a melting effect, like if you have a daemon confined to a certain volume around the head and then the particles are transferred (filter daemon) to another domain which does not collide with the characters shell. This is an example for such a travel...

Re: Resume rendering?

Hi I don't see so many crashes, but it does happen when you exceed the limits of your graphics card and using GPU for Dyverso simulations. So, there should be less crashes with GPU off in the simulation options, or smaller simulations. Regarding caching: if the files are only 2k or similar, this mea...

Re: Any way to have my cache on another drive ?

The cache is where the project folder is for the standalone RF.

For RFC4D you can set the path in the settings of the RF scene object.

Re: Emitter following a path/spline

It needs to be a format that includes animation. Not sure about FBX, alembic maybe?
The SD-format is limited to RealFlow and is produced by the connectivity plugins that are available for commercial 3D software such as Maya, 3Dsmax, Cinema4D, lightwave from the customer portal.

Re: Emitter following a path/spline

Hi I have always used to handle such animations by animating an object in a 3D-program, then exporting that object and animation in the SD-format to RF standalone. Then using that object as parent for an emitter. Also attractors and other daemons can be animated this way. https://youtu.be/K4XQaIBENpA
