Re: Ship simulation didn't work well

I totally agree with Chriff here.

Additionally, I would try the "shell" mode for the object volume for such a complex object. Maybe also increase the "interaction factor" with the grid to see more reaction of the fluid.

Re: Realflow - Houdini questions?

Yes, I could not find a useful manual page here either, but I can show it on a screenshot: http://i66.tinypic.com/2sb4pyb.jpg The hybrido emitter creates particles with a certain density/resolution depending on the sampling rate on the surface of the fluid or in the core. The "bandwidth" p...

Re: Realflow - Houdini questions?

Hi yes, that is the "bandwidth" parameter and core/splash resolution in the hybrido solver system (exists only in the hybrido system). Regarding the network methods I don't have experience myself. It is rather about independent regions of the project, not necessarily only secondary elements.

Re: How do you fracture an object but keep it hollow?

I have not done this myself, but I assume that you have to prepare your model in order to shatter like that. Use extrude functions in your 3D-software to give thickness to the walls of the cube, then import and shatter.

Re: Something odd with the C4D connectivity plugin...

Good to hear that it works again. Just meant that it could (rarely) happen that there is no mesh saved at some point of in the simulation because emitters stop or some kill conditions remove particles. Regarding different frame rates in C4D I don't have much experience, since I always render at vide...

Re: Something odd with the C4D connectivity plugin...

Hi

no, I have not seen such a problem so far. I assume the files are non-zero on the hard disc ? Also, take care to adjust the start/end (or how it is called) parameters in the plugin. If this is wrong then the plugin stops loading files too early.

Re: Slowing down a simulation

Hi you probably already know these methods: 1) Simulating at higher frame rate than the final movie 2) Retiming inside RF 3) Retiming the video using interpolation techniques in a video software Personally I prefer the 1) method because it gives you ample data to work with, but takes more time and s...

Re: Holding object shape while animated?

As for the object being too small for the emitter; can it also possibly be too big? For some reason, the alembic file i'm using imports into RealFlow extremely large, at least 10 times larger than the default grid size. That is definitely a possibility. The imported object should fit within the gri...

Re: Holding object shape while animated?

By the way, the density parameter does not change the space that particles are taking within the fluid. It only changes the weight of the particles. I think it is better to use the default number (1000 or more).
