Re: Advice for a new PC

When comparing GPU's the number of CUDA processing cores is important for calculation speed of such simulation software like RF. I don't know the exact numbers in this comparison, but the more CUDA cores the better.

Re: How was this "fluid becomes image" effect created? Any ideas?

I don't know... if you simply add a texture to the mesh that is flowing onto the ground, then the image will stay distorted as the fluid is mixed and distorted on the floor. If you use a projection like front projection, the image will always stay perfectly visible but not flowing....You could make ...

Re: Object Emitter won't work using an imported mesh

Also, play around with the resolution settings of the fluid. Maybe try to inverse the normals of the object.

Re: Advice for a new PC

Hi it is not bad as a laptop and relatively powerful. But it is a pity that it has to be a laptop, because these programs that you mention for simulation like RF, fumex or Maxwellrender usually take many hours or even days to finish one project. In this time, the laptop will get very hot and a lot o...

Re: Filter Daemon "On Particle Collision"

I tried to replicate this in RF2015, but this version does not work well here anymore (2014 still works, strange). So, I repeated it in RF10 and it seems to behave well (transfer from blue to green domain on collision). Maybe you find some difference in the screenshot. By the way, particle-particle ...

Re: Filter Daemon "On Particle Collision"

Hello,

there may be some setting which is not yet correct. Maybe try the "Filter Daemon Basic" Demo project that comes with RF10 to test if that works for you and then switch to a collision condition.

Re: r20 compatibility

Hi the connectivity plugin has been updated to version 6.0.2.4 and is available at the customer portal. I have just tested it in R20 and it works. They were fast this time :) The render kit plugin has been discontinued before and I don't think it can run in R20 because of the new program core. On th...

Re: how to get stirring water effect.

Hi basically you fill a cylinder with a certain amount of particles and let them settle down with gravity. Then save an initial state and reset with the option of using the initial state. Then add a vortex daemon/force and play with its strength and falloff until the vortex has the right size. Then ...

Yes, the title of his video suggests that it is about a script, some kind of melting script.
