Re: How can I make this fluid?

Hi that won't be easy... I think you are on the right track with an imported object or more generally, by using a shape that emits liquid. I am thinking about another tutorial that creates more like a cloth-like object, but emission of fluid at the edges in addition. Cloth like simulations like this...

Re: Do you know Realflow plugin ?

Hi yes, I know this plugin. But it is not updated anymore (at least not as far as I know). For this type of function we now have the "Sheeter" daemon in RealFlow. The sheeter looks a little limited compared to repletum (or other plugins which are also no longer updated), but it can be very...

Re: Is it possible to make a translucent mesh?

One option could be to add in the Luminance channel of the orange juice material some SSC influence (less than 100%). But especially for SSC the intensity and position of light sources also play a role. Your original reference image was taken with a black background which is rather unusual of juice ...

Re: How do you use wetdry maps in Maya / Maxwell?

Good to know, thanks!

Maybe the folks at the official Maxwellrender forum know more? Maxwell still is rarely used for animations because of comparably slow render time.

Re: How do you use wetdry maps in Maya / Maxwell?

Hi
I have not tried this recently myself but thanks for reporting. Does it happen with the latest plugin version? There was a new version last week.

Re: collision distance problem

Hi

in the collider tag settings there is "collision distance". Try to reduce that. It might also be needed to work with higher resolution in the "fluid" settings.

Re: Is it possible to make a translucent mesh?

Hi

if you work with an imported mesh in Cinema4D with the standard render engine, just use the absorption option with a smaller value so that the thinner parts of the object become lighter and thicker ones dark (see screenshot).

Re: Dyverso Viscosity and Initial States

Hi Oldcode,

yes, the attachments are all full here. Use a free upload-site such as http://tinypic.com or a file sharing service such as dropbox or similar.

Maybe you can share the project file? (not if it is from the demo of RF10 because that cannot be opened by the standard version...)

Yes, this is a Hybrido issue.
Dyverso in RF10 is a very efficient GPU-enhanced engine with CUDA-cards, even on the Mac. Standard particles have no acceleration by the GPU.

Re: Using more than 6 cores creates WARNING: The viscosity solver didn't converge to the chosen accuracy for HY_Domain01

Hi this question can be answered only by somebody familiar with the code. Nevertheless, I made similar experience with a larger number of threads (dual 8 core) in earlier versions of RF with hybrido. At the end of the day the efficacy of the use of multiple cores rapidly drops after 8 cores or so. I...
