Re: simulate with GPU but not maximum

Have a look at the GPU chapter in the online manual
http://support.nextlimit.com/display/rf2016docs/GPU

Only the Dyverso-Solver is completely optimized for use with GPU, but no talking about dual-GPU so it is probably not properly using them.

Re: Floating objects in viscous DY fluid?

Hi it may be that the rather violent motion of the yoghurt particles makes it difficult to have the desired effect just by the simulation alone. If you increase the mass of the berries, air friction and reduce the interaction factor of the rigid bodies, maybe the spinning stops, but they will sink e...

Re: object crashing through body of water

In addition to what Oldcode said, from previous experience with similar simulations I may predict that not every phase of the event will become visible exactly like in the real world. Especially that splash around the entrance area of the object might not happen, meaning that the object enters the l...

Re: Length of periods in command line

Hi

yes, this feature does not seem to measure time. Maybe it is related to how many sub-steps are calculated?
Anyway, personally I don't pay too much attention to command line calculations in the background and let them run overnight.

Re: The river rhone

Hi I would suggest to split this project and use different mechanisms for different shots. If you have a wide shot where you see the river from the air, zooming on the surface, I would use realwave which is by far the fastest method to simulate. You can use a standard realwave surface or custom-shap...

Re: Application specific -> Houdini locked?

Yeah, I am really surprised, there isn't more going on in regards to RF on the interwebs. Any idea why that is? I think there was a noticeable change when the price structure of RF was changed from several hundred to over 1K$ with annual upgrades around 800$. After that, and now without learning ed...

Re: Application specific -> Houdini locked?

Hi Elron,

thanks for the appreciation :P

please ask Herbert for unlocking the Houdini sub-forum, if needed. Unfortunately, there not that many places on the internet to discuss about RealFlow.... as it always has been the case.
