RealFlow crash course by Davesplaining

There are not that many new tutorials on RF appearing recently on YouTube that deal with RF10 standalone, so it is very welcome to see this tutorials (actually an entire series) by Swedish VFX artist David Enbom

This is the crash course of 2 hours

Re: Importing realflow mesh into C4D

Hi that is interesting that Turbosquid allowed somebody to post .bin files, because they are not really a standard for particle or mesh files. Now it is alembic that is much more an industry standard. And so the RealFlow-plugin version supports alembic, but not bin files for exchange of data. You ca...

Re: realflow prt loader issue

Hi
sorry I am not a 3Dsmax user, but in general loading of RF particles in prt or bin format worked well when I used it with Cinema4D.
Unfortunately, Krakatoa does not seem to be developed anymore(?). Otherwise I would recommend to ask this at thinkbox/Amazon.

Re: Mesh troubles rendering...

Hi well, that is a rather dramatic effect  Unfortunately, I don't use Octane with RFC4D (but redshift and a couple of other render engines). Does it only happen with Octane or also with the built-in physical render engine? Is it happening only when you change the scale? So, it may be a bug in...

Re: How to make Ground Dirt soil simulation

Hi have a look at this scene https://www.dropbox.com/s/7isybijcy32yg64/snow_dirt_granular.zip?dl=0 for the settings. This should produce this type of simulation: https://youtu.be/qgYehJtfndU An important factor is not only the granular settings, but also the number of iterations in the simulation se...

Re: How to make Ground Dirt soil simulation

Hi I think heavy snow and mud/dirt are very similar in their physics. You anyway get only particles and a mesh around it from RealFlow.. how you render it with displacement depends then on your 3D software for animation and rendering. You could think about additional gravel and stuff, but then it ma...

Re: Particles crossing object

I see. I am not a 3dsmax users, so maybe it is not enough to increase fps in order to get a smooth animation. In this case you have to make a new scene with an extended timeline and re-make the animation over the entire timeline, then export the sd-file. In principle the motion steps have to be smal...

Re: Particles crossing object

More steps, maybe try 300 FPS, but first only in 3Dsmax and import into a project in RealFlow that is set to 30fps.

Re: Particles crossing object

Ok, so now I could load the scene with the proper objects and sim in RF10. Oldcode is right, of course, about the scene scale and checking for normals for the overall improvement. The models look ok and they hold the particles when the timeline is locked. The main problem here is the large movement/...
