Re: Mesh influencing other mesh too early

I often use smooth in "particle mesh" of 30 or more, steps 1-2 But maybe the problem here is a different one and depends more on the particles simulation, because this should not happen. It may be that the next step is already shown here in this frame. This would mean that you need more su...

Re: I9 vs i7 , more cores vs less cores which one is faster in realflow

Just a remark regarding the concept of such experiments: the complexity of the simulation influences the type of calculations that are going on "behind the curtain". For example, if you have only one emitter in a scene, there are less threads started than compared to a scene where you have...

X-Particles plugin has RF-like new features

Back here in the Cinema4D main application... we soon get an update for the popular plugin X-particles and they are shamelessly stealing from RF with a new sheeter and crown splash feature  https://youtu.be/alvv1XIZGMQ If Insydium is stealing from you Nextlimit, why not going the other way ar...

Re: Mesh influencing other mesh too early

Yeah, you probably would have to smooth the mesh a lot for removing the dip. Might be better to sim with more substeps to see less of that influence.

Re: I9 vs i7 , more cores vs less cores which one is faster in realflow

As you can see everywhere on the 3D forums people are discussing all the time about their graphics cards now that we can use them for rendering and indeed it is a great acceleration with software that makes use of it. The GTX1060 (with 3GB VRAM) is not so great for RF because the memory is limited a...

Re: I9 vs i7 , more cores vs less cores which one is faster in realflow

Hi Oldcode you probably have to run some experiments for that question. My fastest system is rather different with an i9 and 14 cores, but Dyverso is still much faster when I use the GPU option with a GTX1080Ti. So, if you mainly use Dyversion (like in the plugin-versions of RF) a good GPU is the be...

Re: I9 vs i7 , more cores vs less cores which one is faster in realflow

Hi most simulation softwares benefit more from higher clockspeed than more cores. Unfortunately, these programs don't use cores as efficiently as rendering software, for example. If the simulation has to be distributed to many threads, that could actually slow down the process so much that more core...

Re: Necessary Tutorials and Documentation

Regarding settling down the fluid, that almost always needs use of a drag daemon and k_speed with limit&keep option while the timeline is locked, then save an initial state and continue the sim. I have observed that it does seem more difficult with Dyverso particels in "Liquid-PBD" mod...

Re: Adding CROWN in Dyverso breaks sim

That should not happen.... Maybe there are conditions in the simulation that leads to a crash. Instead of crashing the entire software it sometimes happens that RealFlow behaves erratically instead, but needs to be closed and openend again.

Re: export percentage of simulation

I don't use 3Dsmax, but in the RF_connect plugin you probably find somewhere an option for importing not the full range of particles, but fewer. Here in cinema4D I can choose in the "Particle Importer plugin" a parameter called "Detail" in percent and that then shows only the des...
