Yeah, be sure to check your source image in Photoshop, increase the gamma any you will see that you dont have 100 percent black around the edges of your white circles. This is mostly a user error. Use an uncompressed image format for texture based emission.

Scenescale changes only affect loaded geometry, doesn't change the grid value at all..

Basically, you can simulate pretty accurately within RealFlow, just pay attention to your scene scale, eg 1 square in the grid resembles 1 meter edge size.
