BIN export nparticles maya 2009 not on linux

Hi,

I can export a NparticleSystem with maya 2009 to a BIN sequence with the BIN exporter on WINDOWS,

but not on Fedora linux? i can't add the NparticleShape to the particleNodes list..

any thoughts?

I'm wondering about the speed difference you guys are talking about, in simulating locally or on the network, I've never tested this myself (doh!) so I'm curious about it..

I mean I have a sim running for 2 days now... ahum.. so if locally this is 1 day that would be worthwile ofc...

I'm trying to find the preferences file on linux but I just can't find it.

It's not saving my prefs, probably due to permissions.

so I need the location where it's at...
