Tomorrow I'll be doing more tests but if you have time try to use an object to emit, instead of filling it, the particles and let me know if you can get the MB with VRay.

Here at work my supervisor come with a solution for this problem. To avoid the flickering on the mesh because of it's emission he used negative values for the distance threshold, he increased the speed of emission and the FPS. Not exactly because if we could emit more particles between frames this wouldn't happen.
This is my problem at the moment and to fix it I've decreased the FPS to 16 and adapted the other values of the sim

The problem occurs when I have a moving object.
This is what happened to your scene when I decided to animate the object.

My result with 300 FPS + 1000 resolution + 10 speed in my scene - with the new downloaded patch from next limit
I'll dig a little bit more and show you my results soon.
