After 7 months..sphere and cubes!

wow, really nice detail + the render looks great. How was your experience using the maxwell render engine ? Was it easy to get the look you wanted ?

Maya Or Realflow For Rigid Body Simulations?

you might be able to get away with doing something like this:

http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/duncan/coins_with_ncloth

but if things get heavy, maya is not going to cut it.

Repeat last frame of the mesh in Maya 2011

you could also remap the time input to the mesher node in realflow .. but you have to make sure that you are landing on integer frames. How you did it is just fine too.

K Age for specific Emitter?

use exclusive links. Connect the kAge only to the emitter you want it to effect.

Stray Particles

or if you don't want to simulate I wrote a script which removes pieces of a simulation as a post process. It's called 'object containment' available here: http://resources.realflow.com/news_scripts.php?page=1&mode=1&t=0#page=1&mode=0&id=218 hopefully the instructions in the files should be enough to...

Mixing Fluids in a proper way?

you might be able to do something similiar to this in maya using SOUP (www.soup-dev.com). There is an attributeTransfer operator in there very similiar to houdini's attritbuteTransfer SOP. -ranxx bitSeq wrote: Seems that the melt shader in maya does not mix the colours "properly" I am pretty sure yo...

Grid Fluids and vorticity

did you look at the vorticity channel that was created here ? I'm just wondering if it actually is creating usable data. buzz89 wrote: Sure you can - its a little workaround i figured out: 1. Open RF 2. Add a BINARY LOADER 3. Load your Grid-Fluid-Bin (Without Vorticity) into the Loader 4. Switch "Co...

Modify imported obj´s

once you import an SD file, you can move rotate and scale it by clicking on 'SD->curve' (on the 'Node' tab of the object's Node params). This will make the object's transforms editable inside of realflow. You still won't be able to cloe it though, I suggest duplicating your object in maya and export...

object containment script

hey all, I've been using this script for ages now, and I've decided to release it. it's a batch script and an events script which when used together will allow you to delete parts of you sim as a post process. Let's say you have a sim which took 4000 hours to simulate, and the director doesn't like ...

fake upres script

hey all, I've decided to release some of my scripts in the coming weeks, and depending upon if people like them I'll release more. They are all free to use, but they may be somewhat complicated to use so I'll do my best to respond to questions here. the first script I'm releasing is 'fakeUpres'. I w...
