Re: Graph Water To Foam ?

Hey Forester, Here's a link to a zip archive with a basic 10.1 scene (standard license, can't be loaded with the demo!), the graphs, and a screenshot of the setup and domain settings: http://bit.ly/2wKQi9K I normally use DySPH for foam, but of course you can switch to DyPBD as well. The graphs are a...

Re: export particle rotate channel

Hey Stefx, I've forwarded this issue to our developers and they explained me the meaning of the rotation and conform_tensor channels: Rotation is only required with "Viscous", and "Viscoelastic" requires rotation and conform_tensor, esp. when you want to resume simulation with th...

Re: Graph Water To Foam ?

Yes, sure. I'll upload a scene with graphs for checking against vorticity and velocity tomorrow.

Re: export particle rotate channel

This really sounds like a bug. Or better: it seems as if the developers forgot to enable "rotation" by default or add a checkbox to calculate this channel on demand. I'll tell the RF developers about this issue.

Re: How to set up this simple fountain?

Forester has given you lots of useful tips already, so maybe just some additions from my side. Here's a description of RF's various fluid solver types: http://blog.realflow.com/technology/glossary-realflows-liquid-solver-types/ I don't recommend the standard particle solver anymore, as long as you d...

Re: Realflow crash when trying to load scene

I've tested the script and you're right: RF 10.1 crashes when the second scene is loaded. This is most probably a RF bug, because the script works with RF2016. I've checked most of the magazine's scripts with RF10, but I've obviously missed that one.

Thanks for letting me know!

Cheers,
Thomas

Re: Realflow crash when trying to load scene

Ho motoyuki,

Thanks for pointing me to this issue. I'll give it a try today to see if the script can be fixed or if it's a RF thing.

Cheers,
Thomas

Re: A Sticky Tip!

I totally understand your confusion, but no worries: the sticky function has been improved over the years, but the initial idea was really to create this adhesive effect shown in my previous post's image.

Your results in the video are really impressive. Great work and +1 for sharing your tip! Thanks!

Re: A Sticky Tip!

Thanks for that tip Oldcode! Always nice to see when artists push the boundaries and explore new things. Just FYI: The sticky parameter was actually never meant to make particles really stick on an object's surface. The main intention was to make particles flow around an object in a more natural, ad...

Re: How can I make this fluid?

Hi Forester, Thank you so much for your kind words and the additional information on the various subjects. Great to see that you really dig into RF's features and make up your mind about the concepts behind the software. With regards density I'll definitely take a look at your file, but from your de...
