You could try using elastics for this, a low Spring value and set a Elastic limit to get the snap you are after. However not sure that would help you with the ripples. If I understand you correctly, you need to speed it up?

You can just time warp it in comp. Also if you need to sim again, you can change the FPS.

Maybe some more info.


Its always easy to speed things up rather than slow things down:)
